Regulatory Accountant/Analyst

The Regulatory Accountant/Analyst handles regulatory revenues, maintains accounting records, and prepares required regulatory filings. The team is responsible for monitoring regulatory changes and requirements, filing reports, and ensuring compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding and interpreting the application of tariff rates that tie directly to revenue. 
  • Preparing monthly general journal entries and coding invoices using accounting principles.
  • Monitoring accounts and assisting with collection procedures when needed.
  • Preparing accounts receivable billings and monitoring monthly activity for unusual fluctuations.
  • Assisting with preparation of FCC filings and data requests.
  • Conducting research and analyzing data related to long distance products. 
  • Assisting with preparation of documentation for annual financial audits.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Use computer software for accounting and word processing.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records; analyze and reconcile data.
  • Analyze comprehensive regulatory and legislative documents for preparation of concise summaries.
  • Organize work and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of finance or accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience in a regulatory environment and/or telecommunications industry is helpful.
